Peppermint crumble cake
I did it! I took that picture and it actually looks good! I found out that my camera has a special setting for this kind of stuff, so my pictures should be looking a lot better now. :)
I thought chocolate cake sounded really good so found this yummy recipe on allrecipes.com. So for the recipe go to www.allrecipes.com and look for extreme chocolate cake.
I baked the cake in two round pan planning to stack them and make it all pretty and perfect and just so.... but it didn't work. It never ever, ever works! Every time I bake something in round pans and then try to take them out, they fall apart. I even waited an hour for them to cool! Grr...
SO since that didn't work, I crumbled the cake into big pieces and put it in a rectangle cake dish. Then, I drizzled white frosting over it and put some crushed candy canes on it. I love crushed candy canes. They're so good! You can put them with pretzels and ice cream and cake and... and..... (Anyway back to the subject at hand.) just put the candy canes on top and eat it.

And the winner is....
The results are in and Kirk has won the competition! (I guess this just proves the whole looks are better than intelligence thing.) Thanks to all that voted! Here's your recipe:
Make your favorite batch of sugar cookies that are cut into gingerbread man shape. When the cookies are cooled, frost as seen in the pictures. You will need white frosting and red, blue and yellow food dye. (Yes, I am aware that I do not have good frosting skills.)

Star Trek Cookies
Never. I said it would never happen.
But it did.
I have become addicted to Star Trek.
But it did.
I have become addicted to Star Trek.
I watched the movie Thanksgiving night and again on Saturday. My messenger, my phone, and now my blog are all talking about star trek.
So here's the recipe for star trek cookies, make these, sit down and giggle every time Spock comes onto the screen:
Make a batch of peanut butter cookies, you can use any recipe you want (I used the kind that comes in a bag) just don't use chunky peanut butter. Oh, and preheat the oven to 350. Once you have the dough ready, roll into balls and place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Place a Rollo into the center of each cookie so it flattens, then roll the dough into a ball again. Bake for about 10 minutes.
These taste the best when the cookies are warm. The Carmel is all melted and oooh they are so good! Thank you Aunt Lisa for the recipe!
*So here's the thing, when you comment, please vote for either Kirk or Spock, the winning team will get the next recipe named after that character! And remember, you cannot vote more than once. Voting ends Sunday @ 7:00 p.m.*
Live long and prosper!

Chocolate covered pretzels
I love chocolate covered pretzels. White chocolate with pepermint candy, chocolate. . . . The list is endless. I had a few pretzels and stuff around the house so I decided to make some. You will need:
Pretzels (any shape or size is fine)
Chocolate (White, chocolate, any works.)
Toppings such as toffee bits, crushed peppermint candies, M&M's, sprinkles. . .
Get a cooling rack and place wax paper or tin foil under it. Put the chocolate chips into a bowl and put in the microwave, stirring every ten seconds. (You can put the chocolate in the boiler thing, but I don't know how, so the microwave works fine.)
Once the chocolate is melted, Dip the pretzels into the chocolate and place them onto the cooling rack. When you have them all done, add the topping. (The chocolate tends to harden pretty fast so if you are doing a lot, you may want to start adding the topping to your first ones before finishing the rest.)
When that is all done, put in the fridge for a few minutes for the chocolate will harden.
Enjoy!
