Apple Pie

This pie is so good! I have never made a pie before and found this recipe to be fun and easy. Let the pie rest for a while before cutting or else there will be lots of liquid. This was one of my 8:30 P.M. "Hey I want something moods" So the pie was done at about 10:30 You can of course make it much faster than I did.

Pie Filling: 6 cups apples, 3/4 cup sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, Dollop of flour.

Double crust pie: 2 cups AP flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt. 2/3 cup butter or shortening, 6 -7 tablespoons cold water

Prepare apples and slice thinly. Combine Sugar and cinnamon you can add as much as you want. Mix together apples and cinnamon sugar mixture in a bowl. Make sure they are covered evenly. Sprinkle flour and mix. (The flour will help control the liquid.)

Crust: Stir together flour and salt cut in small squares of butter. til mixture has little "peas" in it. Mix in 1 tablespoon of water. Keep stirring. Keep adding water til it dough is moistened. Divide dough in half and roll each half into a ball. Lightly flour the surface and ball and roll into a circle. Wrap pastry around roller then slide into pie plate.

Add apples and then add top crust. Cut slits into pie for the steam to escape. Flute edges.

Bake for 10 min. on lowest rack at 450 degrees then lower temperature to 350 and bake for 30-35 minutes.

Enjoy!
